Son's Car

Recently, I bought my son a 2003 Audi A4 3.0. He is a great kid and has maintained the highest grade point average in school and is a starting outside linebacker for his high school varsity team. I got a great price on the car, but it needed an engine. I found an Audi forum and found a guy from Colorado selling the engine I needed for a reasonable price. We agreed on a deal, and I paid him via Paypal with the insurance coverage.

After a week, communication became spotty, and I became persistent. I expected the engine to be shipped within two weeks, but that time came and went. He had excuse after excuse, that is until I told him what I did for a living. Of course, I submitted a claim to be reimbursed via Paypal and should have no problem with that at all.

He completely changed his tune when I told him I would personally fly out to his home and shop and arrest him. He was very apologetic, but I refuse to do business with him. His track record for other transactions has been mixed, from very high ratings to situations similar to mine.

I intend on pursuing this issue with all of his forums in which he sells items and makes his living. He is a 23-year-old punk who needs some corrective action.

What advice do you give me?

Sounds like you have it under control, good for you.

What advice do you give me?

I have no problem with the post. This scammer will be exposed. How many victims has he already had? I don't know, but at least people will have insight as to the character of this loser.

Fly out and arrest him? Are you an officer of the internet police?

(I mentioned it because you posted specifics which might only be obtainable through certain .db systems, and people have had careers affected by this.
Even though intent was most likely morally good, and inconsequential, this same thing has caused major fallout in careers in other places.
Just a positive thought on your behalf. Appologies.)

If you have jurisdiction, go make the arrest! I had a similar issue that ended with me filing for an arrest warrant for the scammer. As soon as I left a message advising him what I was doing I got a call and my money was returned. Good luck

My advice would be to start a business where you travel the country getting refunds or goods back from scammers.

You would have a long list of clients and could probably make a career in Downey, California.

Thanks my friends. I am sure this guy scammed many people, but the difficulty would be getting them to testify at the respective court, especially if they are in another state or even country. I would have done it regardless of the cost or difficulties because a man is no good without his word.

Trust is one of the most important character traits someone can earn in my humble opinion.

John, I appreciate your input as well. It is always the safest way to use the path of least resistance, but if we did that we would still be living in the dark ages. I am a professionally aggressive person by nature and don't think I'll ever change.

Again my friends, thanks!!!
