LED Household Lighting

I purchaser a Cree led flashlight and was really impressed with the light output, seems as bright as my 1 million CP huge spotlight. Saw some Cree 60 watt EQ LED light bulbs at Home Depot and was impressed enough to purchase 4. Hardly any heat output and I like them better than CFL.

CREE sets the bar high for LED in lighting applications. The bulbs you bought are a very good choice. They only thing about the lamp I did not like when I reviewed them was the stickiness to the fingers of the lamps envelope. May be an issue with dust and dirt accumulation and then not being able to wipe them clean.
They dimmed very well down to about 15% with several different style dimmers and did the best in terms of mimicking the incandescent lamp in terms of color temperature, 2700 kelvin.

Enjoy them

Cree is a major LED R&D and manufacturing firm. LEDs will only get better and cheaper.

The smart thing is to incrementally replace hard to reach bulbs and ones that are on a lot of the time.

I live in So Cal but I don't know Cree. I do know I have succeeded in cutting my bill by 37% so far this year - LEDs and a new intelligent pool pump.

Cree is making some very good bulbs that dim very well and unlike a lot of the chinese CFLs I've tried over the years the Cree seems likely to live up to its hour rating. LED is also going to be inherently better than CFL for areas that see a lot of on/off usage.

As for the price - if they last the hours they are supposed to then the savings is there both in direct savings and in environmental savings.

We have some CREE pot light replacements in our kitchen. They are amazing and function perfect on a standard dimmer switch. These ones Cree | EcoSmart CR6 LED Recessed Light with Integrated Trim | Home Depot Canada

Excellent light and look great.

We have other Phillips bulbs in the house in fixtures and sconces where you can't seem them. When they are turned off they are an ugly yellow color, when on they are great. They too function well on a standard dimmer.

We are shopping this weekend for the more pot light fixtures (cree) and other LED lights for our home.
