2nd bird on my program going up

Looking forward to the 2nd spacecraft launch on a program I've devoted 7+ years to the ground segment and I've one site left to build and test...

Launch is scheduled for July 19 and you can stream it live.

Mobile User Objective System-2 Satellite Launch

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off your bowlines. Sail away from safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore, Dream, Discover."

That is freakin scary...I might actually know you.

That is awesome, congratulations.

That is a large device, the pic with the man sitting just below it really brought the size into focus! those atlas boosters sure have been around a while, are they recovered and reused? Kind of the Mack truck of space launches.
Hope all goes well on the launch and deployment. That is a lot of time and $s. on that bird.

Thanks for posting

My Rocket is bigger than your Rocket.......(grins)........I did automated alignment tooling systems for a final assy moving line on the Delta IV Rocket in Alabama, The Delta IV heavy is the only rocket in NASA to use 3 live rockets abreast.

Of course my Dad has us all beat, him working on the Big Kahuna Saturn IV, and before that, Redstone and Gemini programs.

We'd get up early to watch the launch on our 19" black white tv back in the 60's.

Sorta Cool to see here, is how many launches there actually are for Sat's and Payloads, tons of birds going up quite frequently.

I'm pretty sure I know who you are by name (not related to this program but, from the trade). One of my collegues is ret. Air Force who worked Space. I've never brought you up in conversation though.

I don't think we've met. However, you could probably find some of my work if you're familiar with the Ground Segment.

With any luck, I'll get to eat those cannolis again.;)

Would be scary if turned out to be true but, in a good way.;)SmileWavy

Thanks! It's been my pleasure working within this huge team of truly talented people. Most of the SPAWAR folks I've been working with over the years are in the PMW-146 crew out of the San Dog office. Only regular Nav. I've really interfaced with is Cap'n Nicholson. Most have been the highly under payed (IMO) GS's.
