How to delete an alias and all info on hotmail?
 

Hello.
Could you please let me know how I can delete an alias email address and all else that goes with it.
I wish to keep my original email address.
Please and Thanks....big time.

For a hotmail address, if you don't log in for 18 months, that user name can be taken by someone else, and all your info (as that user name) will be deleted when that happens. So as far as I know, it takes at least 18 months.

That's all I know about that...

I am going through the same thing as my hotmail a/c had been hacked. I now have a Telus a/c. When I was trying to refresh my hotmail a/c after it had been hacked I got an outfit that wanted to charge $200-300 to recusitate my a/c and that would have meant giving him my charge a/c no. No thanks. I will try to shut it down again with no cost. In the meantime the scammer is impersonating me and asking for euros....
I got more ph. calls from friends concerned about me than I get on my birthday LOL.
If I come up with anything Mike I will let you know....

I had my Hotmail account hacked a few years ago. I had no idea how or when it got hacked. It was infected by some malware (I assume) that sent out strange political stuff to people on my contact list. I reported the account as hacked to Hotmail, & they promptly shut it down. I emailed them I had notified them about the account being hacked and asked for it to be reopened & for them to clean it if possible. After about 3 to 4 weeks, I got it back cleaned of the malware.

If you got in that much trouble with a Hotmail alias, then you were using it wrong.

are you aware that the alias emails still show your name? They're not anonymous...they just come from a different email address.
