Nostatic, is the fat lady singing yet?

I might have slept through the show. Now that I'm awake...Nostatic, did you finally become a Porsche owner (again)? If so, congrats!

I was watching the board all day yesterday waiting to find out. Maybe he's been sitting in the car in the driveway all this time. Or he went for a "quick" drive to Canada and back.

what we need is a "up to the minute" news section. I propose the following lead off items:

-nostatic's quest for the be(a)st
-the story on the 2 free 911s (never heard what happened to that one)
-who the artist formerly known as bigbpainta teed off this time
-anything by Roland

steve911 08-01-2002 11:54 AM

LOL!!!!!!:D :D

Hey, wait a minute, rs!
I bet that's been Photo-Shopped to make her legs look better than they really are.

Mark Wilson 08-01-2002 03:56 PM

Is that mini-me behind her?

JeremyD 08-01-2002 04:16 PM

So back to the subject - Nostatic - Do you have a Porsche in your driveway and a big sheet eatin grin on your face? If so, bet you don't sleep good tonight!

nostatic 08-01-2002 06:38 PM

Greetings to all, and thanks for your posts. I've hesitated logging on because due to personal circumstances I had to back out of the deal at the last minute. No, the wife didn't kabash it, but rather I was at the edge of my financial and psychological comfort zone on this purchase. I jumped too soon, and made a critical mistake of not "living with the decision" long enough.

Yes, you can call me wishy washy, a loser, pathetic, etc. I'll have to agree with you. I did *not* leave the seller on the hook for anything however. The only person out financially is me. I"m hoping in a couple of months that finances and psyche stabilize so I can finally move forward unconflicted. But as I believe pbs said, maybe I shouldn't own a 20 year old car. Time will tell. That does make a good argument for a 993...haha.

At least Planter's money is safe. I'm going to take a break from the board for awhile and work on a few things. Thanks to those here that I count as friends. I was going to just stay away out of depression and a bit of shame, but I felt that some were sincerely excited and on my side, so I felt I at least owed them some closure. Hey, maybe 3rd time is a charm. At any rate the next time I won't bug anyone until *after* the purchase is done.

btw, I have brand new unmounted tires and nothing to put them on so I'll sell them cheap. Kumho 712's, a pair of 205/55/16 and a pair of 225/50/16. email me if you are interested...I'd prefer to sell locally.

Cheers

Nostatic? PLEASE...keep bugging us! This has become fun, in some sort of weird way...:D

Brian993 08-01-2002 06:42 PM

No shame in feeling comfortable with your decision. Maybe it was a wise move. I sense your a very intelligent person Todd. You have my support!

Doug Zielke 08-01-2002 06:45 PM

NS.....I'm still saving your stickers from the 3rd (and final) printing. :)

Don Plumley 08-01-2002 06:51 PM

A long time ago I should have backed out of a car purchase but did not have the cohones to do so. Wish I had the smarts to say "no" - you apparently do.

Todd - separately I've messaged you about the tires. Don't want them cluttering up your chair :D

Cheers,

Don

Matt Smith 08-01-2002 06:54 PM

Sigh.

You're a nice person 'Static and I've enjoyed your contributions and good humour despite your less than spectacular debut.

But buying a car just shouldn't EVER be this difficult. It's a car, it costs money and it occasionally gives enjoyment. Easy.

nostatic 08-01-2002 06:58 PM

Wow, this board totally rocks (something I already knew though)...I feel better already.

Thanks guys....hell, sticking around here is better than working...and I might as well not waste all this accumulated second-hand p-car knowledge and pithy rejoinders. Maybe the 3rd time *will* be the charm. In talking with the wife today she said, "at some point in the near future you'll feel right about it, have a little money cushion, and then you'll have your Porsche." Has she been hanging out here?!?

Matt Smith 08-01-2002 07:06 PM

Possibly!
A cushion, as I continually tell my designer Mrs is a totally useless piece of furniture. She's always buying and repositioning new ones, and it frustrates the hell out of me. They waste space that could be used for OTHER THINGS, they collect dust and all anyone ever does is put their butt on them.
Static- you don't need a cushion. You need some Fuchs for those tyres and a rocket to place strategically on your lower torso.
