				Road America vintage race

Went to the big vintage event at Road America yesterday. Great weather, great cars (lots of old and new Ferraris), good food... all good except this year I was looking closely at many of the 60-70's T/A cars. While I give these guys credit for being out there, a LOT of the suspension fabrication and welded cages appeared to be very poorly thought out and even more poorly executed in cars that had some serious front straight speed.

At the other end were some cars near the leading edge of technology...some guy raced a pretty new RedBull Audi DTM car. All-in-all, another good Saturday. I'll try to post some images when I get a chance. |

I was at Port Washington Fish Day Saturday for the car show. During the show I heard about the downtown historical race car show down town Elkhart Lake that night. I drove up and arrived around 7:00 and headed downtown. The cars on display were amazing, many of which I have never seen in person before. One of my favorites was the Audi Quattro rally car. It looked like a beast.

I was there also, right next to the Audi. Now I can proudly say I now have an award winning 944, taking Reserve, 2nd, to the red Porsche Speedster. Great time, cars, food. I'll post many pictures soon.

Nice pics, thanks! I saw and heard the Audi DTM car practicing last week at Autobahn Country Club. Just unreal. A buddy who talked to the crew said it came with a 40' container full of spares and startup procedures take nearly an hour.

The DTM driver must have been 6'6'' (maybe more) tall and 60+ years old. I wondered if he was some former NBA guy.
