Hungary Quali (spoilers)
Great quali, very close at the front. Worth watching. Watch Kimi back it into last turn, like a rally car.

Yes. Kimi certainly is an ace driver. Being able to pick up and keep that sliding rear in such controll - in a F1 car. Awesome. Looking forward to tomorrow.

.....and race day
Great race, lots of action. Fairly good day for my two favs, Ham and Kimi, so I liked it quite well. Worth a look!
Didn't like the drive thru for Grosjean, I thought it was a great pass. But rules are rules I guess. (Altho back in the day I always thought Zanardi's pass of Herta at cork screw was not by the rules) |

Great race. Glad to see Vettel and Hamilton's typical roles reversed.

Great race. Liked watching Kimi keep Seb back. Would have like to watch Weber close in and wait for "team instructions"

Agreed. Here are a few quote from the post race interview and news conference:
Q: Satisfied you take a few points off the World Championship leader? KR: Yeah, its better than nothing. Q: Kimi, you are now second in the championship. What does this mean now, at this time, for you and for the next four weeks? Will you go to Enstone and help to develop the car or just have fun and holiday? KR: I dont design the car so theres not much use for me there. Everybody has to be off work in a weeks time so theres nothing happening at any of the factories, at least, thats how it should be. I will do something and see what happens at the next race in four weeks. Q: Kimi, now youve got some feeling with the new tyres, do you think you have the right package to win in Spa? KR: I dont know. Its a different circuit. I have no idea. Last year we were not very strong there. I think we know the reasons and for sure our car is better this year but is it good enough for fighting for a win? We will see in Spa in one month.

Haven't seen Hammy go flag to flag in a long time. In fact I'd need to look it up.

I managed to watch the first half of the race and when I saw Grosjean's overtake I knew there would be an investigation and a drive through. That could have been nasty. I was glad to see later he had been taken to task for it.
Nice to see Kimi move up in the points. Those of us who wondered last year if Lewis had made the right move must feel by now he did the right thing. Dennis, I agree with you on the Zanardi move! Interesting season. Best Les

I'm not sure who deserves the championship most this year. Hamilton, Alonso, and Kimi each have a compelling story and have worked their butts off to pull their teams forward.
I do know for certain that Vettel doesn't deserve another championship.

If he has the most points at the end of the year, why does he not deserve the championship?

That, and he's a little dickhead. Did you hear him whining on the radio yesterday at the end of the race? I would like to have heard Kimi's comments to him on the podium. JR |

If they didnīt make a silly bunch of money and fame, I would almost feel a bit sorry for these young lads - like Seb and Ham. Being at the centerfold of such international pressure. No wonder they come out a little whining sometimes.
That said, Kimi is my man. Always has been. Cool as a cucumber. Like Ronnie Petersson in his days.

From what I have read, Fail 22 has something to do with codes and a way to get Vettel to make adjustments on his steering wheel for a problem he was having with the car. Most likely with the KERS.

My opinion of Hamilton warmed up quite a bit after watching him come back to TopGear (to beat Vettel's time). I'm sure Seb is an interesting chap too. But I'd rather go out for a drink with Kimi! (actually, I also like Button, shame what's happened to McLaren this year)

I'm rooting for Kimi but I don't think SV is much more of a dickhead than Alonso, Hamilton, etc. |
