RE: Woodies, we have a woodie show here in San Pedro once a year... unfortunately it is not advertised very well... as was the VW show they had years back, one Saturday morning I was on my way to work :( and there were hundreds of old VW's parking on the grass in the park.

It's a park in Signal Hill and the show is put on by the Sultans car club. I have known some of the Sultans for over 40 years. I'm not one of their gang and don't have one of the more or less approved cars. But we can sit and talk about cars. Who cares if I had slew of Euro cars after a string of early Corvettes?
It's cars, man. But, secretly I think they think I'm a little high brow. You really need to be with these guys to know them. I'm not that in.
Oh, and it's all for charity and they do stuff all year long to raise money. Just an excellent bunch of people who are the real high brows.
And who stand soundly on their ground. The creed, honesty and trust amongst these guys and gals is beyond description. The cars represent a tradition of hard work and hard play. They really are a brotherhood.
