Banner Ads

It's interesting to see what banner ads pop up on Wayne's page when I click various PPOT threads. The Honda Ad thread brought a local Honda dealer's ad. The Ford Idiot thread brought a local Kia dealer and now there is a Lexus ad up. When I open the Chest thread - nothing for a while, then a Google+ ad. Too bad Wayne can't use that space - he's paying for it.

Umm, what's makes you think Wayne is out bucks? Other sites sell that space.....

I got one that advertised...

"CougerLand - Remember the cheerleaders at school? They've all grown up"

I **** you not.

I am so glad I don't get the ads.

You can't be on a PC.

The ads I see are related to what I did in the last 15 minutes. I'm starting to clear my cache a lot more often.

Firefox + AdBlock Plus = Win

No banner ads, no youtube ads, none of that BS.

Maybe because Rick does nothing but FB and PP.

Rick V 08-07-2013 04:06 PM

I just have a decent setup for blocking ads that has been discussed at great length

Joe Bob 08-07-2013 04:08 PM

Which is, praytell?

AdBlock Plus works on Chrome too.

Joe Bob 08-07-2013 04:18 PM

That was Wide Body....got two screen names.....%^)

How come no program for IE?

I'll try it on both and get back to ya.....the last time I used them they tended to freeze.

Rick V 08-07-2013 04:30 PM

IE blows

wdfifteen 08-07-2013 06:59 PM

I just thought it was interesting what ads different subjects bring up. Yeah, I know about ad blockers.

The only time you should ever use IE is when your computer is fresh out of the box...and only then to go download Chrome or Firefox.

Joe Bob 08-08-2013 07:48 AM

Or with websites that only support IE.

Yeah...well, those shouldn't exist. BUT you do make a good point, sir. I've stumbled across a few of them myself (mostly military related stuff), and it pisses me off to no end.

Joe Bob 08-08-2013 08:01 AM

Yep, gubmint sites that also disable auto fill functions....you type in a page of information and then it crashes.

Our clinicals software only works on IE8 or IE9 which means we can't use any tablets at the moment since Windows 8 is IE10 and the others are non-IE.
