I had a '55 FoMoCo pickup (warmed over) in High school, nowhere near that clean, with a 289, not a sweet little flatty.

Very cool truck. Offy heads are a nice touch, are those a couple of '97's under the air cleaner?

Funny story, a buddy of mine found the '56 big window he had as a kid, bought it back and did a pretty high dollar restoration on it; he had it less than a year and sold it, never ever drove it!

I've always wanted a '53 F-100, it looks very restored and nice but why did they do that to the hood? Is it a custom truck? Didn't see other mods.

I brought an expert w me and yes the hood was changed ( I did not have a clue), but my "expert" said the great resto, ect was not a deal breaker. Really the only mod other than the top end which is cool and fairly correct

Fuel filler has been moved and the hole filled, everything else looks fairly stock. That hood mod is pretty popular with these trucks.....

Alternator disguised as a generator!

One more little mod that a lot of these trucks have are some clever little hidden clips that hold the tailgate closed instead of the chains. Either look is a good look.

The more I look at that the more I see. That is a really nice truck. Love the wide whites and steelies...

Classic.

You have a lot of really nice stuff, 126! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, my "expert" noticed the fuel filler was changed, but it was done so well that he thought maybe it was correct, but he did say that the filler neck should long and different, any info is appreciated. I'm exploring new territory. My Dad had a 50's truck in the 60's. We used to used the truck as a work truck rehabbing fourclosures and flipping houses in the 60's and 70's in the San Fernando valley. Mom loves old trucks and this takes her down memory lane.

The battery is under the passenger floormat - high school kids may have used that box for contraband!

Fuel filler used to come out at the drivers side bottom corner of the cab, right behind the door. There would have been a big rubber grommet around the filler neck. A real ugly wart, and your truck doesn't have it!

We want to add beauty rings on the wheels, yes or no?
How about some oak railings on the bed, done properly of course yes or no?

I vote no on both. I really like the clean look your truck has.

Nice Truck!!!!!!!

Buy a set of rings if you don't like them take them off.

Fenton cast iron headers are a nice add on. Do you have two temp gauges or one? the left bank and the right bank ONLY share water in the radiator.

If you run two gauges one on each bank it will give you better info if you're lean or have another problem.

There was a time when my dad bought every flatmotor he could find for a few months. I think that we had 11 or so in the back yard to find 1 worth rebuilding.

I really need to get a video clip of my Dads 40 running it purrs like nothing else.

Mom and I love the oak rail look, our "expert" says no.
I think it adds character, ties in with the oak in the bed.
Cheesy or not? ??
