Wow, I couldn't tell when it came off. I heard that weird whine but it wasn't nearly as violent as I thought it would be. The engine didn't seem to over rev when it came off. Sounded like they pulled back to idle quickly.
It sure would have been more violent if a blade or a piece of a blade came off.
This reminds me of the old saying. "The prop is there to keep the pilot cool. If you dont believe it, watch him sweat when the prop stops turning " (Or comes off ) |
Seemed like a non-event until they landed, then they got excited.
weight/balance change would need trimming out real quick too, and whatever you do don't get into a stall with that noseweight missing.
Those guys DID GREAT ! (EVERYONE )
Wow, the pilot did great. I think I would find the mechanic that last worked on it and punch him in the nose.
Wild! That must be exceedingly rare, no? Of all the things to fall of the plane . . .
Must be a structural failure of sorts...
They have a dozen bolts and all safety wired.......not like one or two came off.they all did...maybe the prop hub broke..hard to tell from the pic.... looks like remains of bolts are still there |
Props to the pilot...
(I'll get my hat...) |
Mighty fine flyin.
Remember those rubber-band powered balsa wood planes you had when you were a kid? I guess it's kinda like that.
