I hit some wrong key combination, and...

...now the web window fills the entire screen and all the function tabs across the top and task bar at the bottom are out in space somewhere.

How do I undo this? Running WindowsXP.

Hit "CNTRL - " (the control button and the minus key together) to zoom out.

doug_porsche 08-08-2013 07:59 PM

or CNTRL 0 to shrink to "Normal" size

Heel n Toe 08-08-2013 08:01 PM

Thanks... but that ain't doin' it.

Heel n Toe 08-08-2013 08:03 PM

It makes the size of everything ...fonts, etc. ...every item on the page... smaller and larger, but the borders of the web window is still out to the edge.

Heel n Toe 08-08-2013 08:06 PM

Wait... I just hit maximize after hitting CTRL + 0 and that fixed it.

Thanks.

You might want to avoid using the keys with letters on them.

JE9, are you clumsily stumbling towards your "falling on my sword -- goodbye forever, everyone" moment, or is today a special occasion?

:p;)

Isn't it F11

Heel n Toe 08-08-2013 09:05 PM

Yep, it is. Just tried it. It toggles back and forth when you press F11. :)

Reminds me of the time my Daughter was 2 and started playing the keys like Moon on the drums...a very strange website opened and I am not sure but it was either a portal to another universe or a very bored techno geek...I wish I saved the link. I'm sure there is a cool story to be written along that theme...

My kids do that, they break the computer in the most interesting ways.

Please let him. Although it was a pretty mild rebuke.

Or a stretched out series of 5 or 6 technical books!

Go to a DOS prompt and type in FDISK and hit enter a couple times ;)

This happens to my mom all the time. I tell her to pick up the monitor and shake it a few times to reset it. Kind of like an etch-a-sketch. ;)
