What is the point of this?

I thought that Lojack was supposed to be sort of, you know, a secret?

I guess it's like having an ADT sign in your front yard

The secret is where on the car the device is installed; have one put on your car and even you won't know where it is installed.

Car thieves often leave a car sit for some period of time someplace after they steal it in case the police come down on it should it have such a device.

If I was a car thief I'd pass on stealing a car advertising that it had that device.

A sticker is cheaper than a lojack and darn near as much of a deterent, maybe even more.

Iffn you gots a lojack and someone steals your car, you'll prolly get it back but it might be trashed.
If someone sees that sticker and steals the next car, then you still have your car in the same condition.

BTW did you know you can buy those alarm company signs and alarm stickers for your windows on E-bay?

Don't those alarm company signs just tell the pro thieves which system they need to be prepared to defeat? They probably have the manual in their van and just flip to the right chapter a little faster after seeing the sign in the front yard.

I have one of those on my 90s Camry and never a problem. The thieves just walk on by.

No LoJack on that car, just the sticker. :D

Would you steal it?

Cheaper that the actual equipment.

I always thought that they burglars worked for the alarm company, either as the guy who sells you the system or the guy who installs it. We just use one of these, a lot cheaper: :)
