There's an exception to every rule. My 1970 Vette exception.
I don't normally take on unfinished projects from other shops but this was an exception. One of my more active Porsche customers needed help finishing a job that was started by another shop. The car came to me in boxes and bags. The frame had been powdercoated and the body had already been painted. It's been five years start to finish with a couple periods of stagnation while other issues took my attention away from it.

That era was a pretty good one for the Vettes wasn't it? I like the older styling better than the modern ones.....
Nice job Kev! |
Very nice
|
Sweet! I have nothing against Corvettes, especially this era.
|
Nice! However I see a blemish. Opps, it was schmutz on my screen, nevermind.
|
When did they drop the stingray name? I was under the impression that only '68 and '69 models were still called Stingrays.
|
I like anything pre 73 when they still had chrome bumpers.

Small distinction, I know... but important to those who love the C2. :) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1376642393.jpghttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1376642438.jpg |

Still want it? |
Gorgeous car. Early C3s are so much more attractive than the later ones.
|
I love that Donnybrook Green paint.
|
Nice car, I love that dark green color in that year of body style, plus the dark maroon on an overcast day also looks good on that car.

Love it. Great color, great lines and still somewhat affordable compared to the c2.
|
Want to trade for a nicely set up Miata?
No, seriously. :D Love the coke bottle vettes! |
Very nice. Chrome bumpers look right on these.
|
I also have almost the same car ALSO in boxes. A 1972 454 auto with AC . Original colour was green but it was repainted red about 15 yrs ago.
I like looking at it in the garage more than actually driving one. |
Nice. The Apollo Fella's wore this vehicle as their transportational suit.
|
Donnybrooke was one of the greatest greens on a C3. The other was Fathom Green.http://i1295.photobucket.com/albums/...pseda8db00.jpg My '71 in Steel Cities Grey. May not be everyone's fave, but it does have the best name ever given a paint.

I smell sharks in the water...

Nice work!

A solid rear axle...sniff...how uncivilized!
Beautiful vette! Great job. |

Oops, you are correct! Still a beautiful car.

Nice job. Too bad it is an auto. This is the last gen Vette that still came predominantly with a stick. I had a 71 ragtop for a while in sunflower yellow. Bucket list item.

I like it ! Just as it is. Automatic & all. But Carters Steel City Grey 71.........WOW +1. Best color option for a Corvette. IMO.

I have my 72 big block Vette parked beside my 911 , biggest difference is the extra foot of length and the extra 500 lbs. The Vette from about 74 to 82 deserved it,s "pregnant whale" nickname . Horsepower was down to something like 165 hp from the 350 . I think my old SC was something like 180? during the same period. Marketing focus changed and they sold to people like my mother. (Who owned a 1975 when new and liked it alot) |
