Porsches at Pebble Beach Tour

This year's Pebble Beach Concours is featuring the 50th anniversary of the 911. Today's Tour d'Elegance had a lot of goodies on it...here are a couple. (And we suggest you check out the non-Porsches as well...great stuff).

Pure art. Absolutely lovely pics.
Funny among all these rare vintage vehicles, all of a sudden there is a plain Jane 75 930. :)

A typical Porsche normally aspirated antibody attack on the iconic 930 Turbo. This 1975 model is one of 284 made (400 required) to homologate the legendary 934 and 935. The 935 is one of the greatest racecars of all time, ranking alongside the Porsche 917. Fewer 1975 930’s were made than the 959, one fifth of the 2.7 Carrera RS's made, and production was about the same as the 1965 Porsche 911. Yep, plain Jane. :)

Was really diggin' all the Alfa 8c's. Then that BMW 507 popped up.
I had to stop. That car has an uncanny effect on me. Always has. What happened to BMW after that? You build one of the most lovely automobiles ever, and then a bunch of refrigerators on wheels.

No worries. There’s still seems to be a negative drumbeat from the NA Porsche crowd towards 930’s unless it’s the 1989 where there are attracted to the 5-speed like a shiny object.

There was a 1964 Porsche 901 cabriolet prototype? Is that for real? Never heard of it.
