Whatever method you use to put that darker grey in, before you put the chrome rings back on, step back and take a look at it without them... maybe in different light at different times of day. Most of the GM steelies look really good with just the silver, IMO.

If you need to use tape - I've found it easier to use actual pin-striping tape available at your local FLAPS. It is a vinyl type material that is made to be flexible for round contours. Then use masking tape and paper adjacent/overlapping the pin stripe tape.

I think that'll look too plain if you don't put the darker color in and they'll be harder to paint later.
