At the Buckley show Saturday there was a HUGE coal steamer running an entire shop of woodworking tools in operation. Those big leather belts were just a runnin'. You could carry on a conversation right in the middle of all this machinery, very quiet but for a pleasant and rythmical clicking and clacking.

It was also running an enormous (20' diameter) horizontal flywheel with a cam-like axle attached to a push rod which was powering an oil rig about 100' away. The rod was just lying in the dirt over which benches were placed to sit. The lit. said it could run up to 5 separate oil wells up to A MILE away!

My name is Scott, I'm a big city boy from Kailifornia, I dig exotic sexy European sports cars but hey, I dig classic American muscle car too...

And...

Well...

OK...

I love old tractors and steam trains too... there... I said it...

Acceptance is the first step to a cure, Scott.

At Buckley there was also a set-up from 1906 that was a personally forged and hand made set of shop tools including a 20" boring machine. Personally forged means the guy, a farmer by trade, made models and cast the iron in molds of sand. Looked to me like the guy was a genius.

Late at night...

When no one is around...

I turn on the TV and watch RFDTV... but lets that be our little secret ;)
