Account Notice From Virgin Broadband2Go...

It said this:
.
Confirmation no.: 981516063 Date/Time: Aug 18, 2013 08:22 pm(CST)
Your account has used 85 percent of your data usage cap. Once you reach 5120.000MB of usage, we'll reduce your data speeds through 09/15/2013.
.
So I called and spoke with a lady (in India, of course) who told me that EVERY service in the world reduces internet speed after 5 gigs of use.
Is that correct?
.
BTW, I'm dropping Virgin service soon...I could not get onto the internet this morning...too busy, I guess.
.
TIA for any info.

Bandwidth caps are common.

Basically if you are paying a reasonable price for "Unlimited" they will cap / throttle you.

It's a way to back into limiting your data usage without saying your unlimited plan is really limited.

I would love to dump ATT but I have one of the old truly unlimited plans and really don't want to give it up.

This sounds familiar with Virgin.
I pay $40/month for "Unlimited" usage.
It's as slow as dial-up at times and often I can't even get online.
Best times to use is before 6 a.m.
Thanks for the replies gents.

Every time you can't get on or experience sub standard service while still below your 5 GB full bandwidth cap you should call them and complain that you want a refund for the portion of your service that you are paying for but they are not providing.
