No $hit! And if the stinking budget doesn't pass by August 1st, there's a good chance I aint getting a pay check this month! Since I'm a state Fireman. How would you like that feeling? You have to go to work, bust your a$$, and have no idea if you will get paid this month, because some jerks in the capital can't run this state!
In fact, about 7 years ago or so, they gave us I.O.U.'s when they didn't pass the budget on time. Trying keeping a Porsche running with those! |

Any $$$ surplus we had a couple years ago was burned thru by Gray Davis handing it to the extorsionist Electrical power generators........
We here in Kalifornia now have a deredulated electrical market..... Which should mean competition between electrical power suppliers for our $$$$, as in all the commerials for long distance phone carriers we are bombarded with daily on both TV & radio..... So where I ask is all the competition ????? There is none....the political actiom groups for the big three (PG&E, SCE & SDG&E) squashed that part of "deregulation"..... so now all we have is just as it was before, only now there are NO regulated prices controlled so as to keep electricity stable, & affordable. They can manufacture ANOTHER fake electricity crisis at will...anytime....and raise consumer $$$ to their liking. So since the big three sold virtually all their power generating plants here in Cal to out of state based corporations (real smart, ehh?) power is sold only to the big three by these out of state owned power plants at rediculously high contract $$$ agreed to by Gray Davis (aka Marvin Milktoast) That's how deregulation works in Kalifornia. If you don't live in sunny Kali, don't be fooled by electrical deregulation schemes you hear from your own state reps...it's a big biz scam to rape the wallets of the consumer (you!) If you doubt anything I've said hear check into California's electricity problem for your self, I'd love to be educated on any thing I may have mis- construed. Thx for listening to my rant !!

California threw money away!! They said they had a surplus and they didn't know waht to do with it. First they rebated the $300 fee charged on vehicles entering the state that were not originally sold here and didn't have 50 state smog equipment. THEN they only charged $200 (instead of the normal 300) in 2000 for State Contractors License two-year renewal. I know, I have an active license. There are over a quarter million licensed contractors in CA. THAT'S 25 MILLION DOLLARS!!! What the he!! are they thinking? Like I'm gonna miss the hun if they didn't do it. It's like the 600 bucks the Feds gave up last year under the guise of jump starting the economy. Yea, right. Give these idiots money and they are totally irresponsible with it. The last person I voted for was Ross Perot for just this very reason. Haven't voted since and probably never will again.
Oh, and I'd like some health insurance, but can't afford anything but scrape-me-up-off-the-pavement-and-send-me-to-county-general kind with $5000 deductable. And the county (Los Angeles) is closing all the hospitals it operates. Coulda used a little surplus there. And who was the jerk that said he was gonna straighten out the health ins problem in this country as one of the first things he would do as President? Him and his wife, piano legs. |
