2 motors in the living room and you live alone? That might explain why you live alone. 2600 is a lot for a bachelor.

"motos" not motors...as in motorcycles...I clean them w/a Q-Tip, they're fashion statements.
I arrived in AZ in 2010 driving a motorhome and needed some land for parking.
Prev. owners were a week or so away from foreclosure, I made an all cash offer and that was that. I like having space, like I said.
2,600 s/ft. is OK w/me.
HTHs.

Good grief, I have no idea how large the various apartments that I've lived in over the years have been. I've always been in either a 2 or 3 bedroom apt prior to moving in with my wife. Then we spent a year in a 4 br townhouse and a year in a 2 br, and now we've been in a 4 br house that's just under 2000sf.

If I had unlimited $$, I could see myself in a large house, but I also think that I could be happy in something in the 1200-1600 range now that the kids are out.

I'm sure I've never been in anything larger than 2000.

I lived in a "Tank House"...aka, Pump House in my 20s. The bedroom was upstairs with its staircase attached to the outside of the house. All knotty pine interior.
$75/mo. Loved it. Footprint of about 25' x 25'.
This looks very similar to mine:

It's about what we want, not what we need. I do not want to live in a place without at least 10 foot ceilings. My current house (for the past 20yrs) has 20 foot cathedral ceilings and 2800 sq ft. It's just me and my partner and our dog. I don't really want all the floor space, the main room is 35x40 and I'm wishing someone made a riding vacuum cleaner, but I really don't like low ceilings.

This works for me ^^

Sorry not what the OP ask but in general has always been less than 1700 sq ft. Less is more depending on head count when it comes to needed living space. Garage / shop space now that is a different story.
