They were not whole humans. What they lacked within themselves they found in each other. Apparently life holds no value to them probably due to the worthlessness they felt about their own. Because love is foreign to them, human life has no more sanctity to it than a mosquito has to us.

Some call this evil.

"Evil." "Life holds no value to them." Original sin?

I can't stop thinking of this post.

There's much evil in this world. Good too. It just seems like so many with a voice these days take the side of the former.

That poor Aussie runner. His loved ones. The 89 year old veteran of Okinawa. His loves ones.

Somehow the civilized have to start addressing evil. Seems like the days of sweeping it under the c9race-card) carpet are coming to an end.

Sorry for the poor prose.

\rant.

Most likely, those boys came from a broken home where they didn't know their Fathers (sperm donors), and their Mothers were either working all the time, or high all the time trying to forget their own worthless lives.

Not sure why that matters. What they did was inhuman and there's no one to blame but them. No one. Not even bad parents...assuming that was even the case.

150 years ago horse thieves were hung...... as were rapists, and murderers.

Now we coddle murderers........ and encourage the breeding of low life primitives. Hell, government INVESTS in breeding these animals.

We have met the enemy, he is us.

My Sister, who was the DA for three counties in South Carolina for over twenty years, tried some horrific cases, death penalty stuff.

She said you could look through their eyes and find nothing, the signposts of life absent, fleeting or angry, violent.

We have crossed the Rubicon and yet we enable still, are feckless in our repose.

I can't explain how these modern day tragedies happen... or how people like these perpetrators grow up devoid of any basic human morals and decency...

However to think that this is a new phenomena just isn't true.

The Romans (considered to be a very civilized) fed Innocent people to wild animals in the coliseum for entertainment... and we all know what went on the the camps in Germany...

As it is said "For evil to flourish, it only requires good men to do nothing"

In the end, we are just animals, just like everything else on the earth. Not far removed from non-speaking cave dwellers in most respects. It really doesn't surprise me that things like this happen... and its just going to get worse as we become more populated and technology isolates certain individuals even further.

Don't look for reasoning behind the actions of some of these people; you won't find it.

We, as a society, have produced a situation in which consequences for "evil actions" have been reduced to the point that the actions have become a means to a better life.

Example: No job or home - kill someone - get life in prison - housing, 3 meals a day, medical care.

Sadly, they don't see themselves as evil, or good or bad. "You have something I want, give it to me, or I'll take it" whether its possessions or sex, they really don't care. I really don't think they think much deeper than that.

Even animals become self destructive when bored...a good reason why I work my kids like circus mules...

Bad people seem to find more bad people yet the same can be said for the good as well. I'm surprised more of this doesn't occur with the population the way it is and the increased freedom and leasure...

I often think that the 'better the times' the worse the times.

No.

We are not "just animals."

We are way more than that.

Don't put me or yourself in the same box as these cowardly killers.

They're thugs, plain and simple.

I wish there was a way to arrange for the two guys who killed that WWII veteran to try that on the 17-18 year old version of the man who enlisted to fight for his country. We all know how that would've turned out. His response would've been so quick that the two boneheads would've questioned their manhood.

Again... cowards... and thugs.

Evil and Godless... but not animals.
