Email help needed

My wife is an avid quilter and subscribes to a number of quilt news letters. She says she's not receiving them even though she's signed up for them with the respective companies.
Her computer is running Win 7 Home Premium Ver 6.1 (Build 7601 Serv Pkg 1) and Windows Live Ver 2009 Build 14.0.8089.0726 for email.
I've looked at her settings for email and there isn't anything being sent to a spam folder or being filtered.
Any suggestions as to what is causing the 'non-delivery' of the newsletters?
TIA.

Use a yahoo or gmail account, much easier. She will just have to re-sign up for the newsletters

Check to see if any of the sites are on the blacklist.

We are currently using a Verizon account, but that is going 'thru' the Win Live software and causing the problem?

Is there a way to log into a verizon webpage to see the email? I bet there is, most accounts these days have that. It's possible that Verizon is sticking them in a SPAM folder that, because it is on their server, your email app doesn't give you visibility to.

The second option is that something has happened on the quilting websites so she's not getting the emails. You could try going to the sites, and turning her email updates off and back on or changing them to another email account and then changing them back, both for testing (does the other account receive the email) and as a sort of reset.

Scott - we aren't having trouble sending email, just receiving it from nationally known companies. I doubt they are on the blackmail list as there are thousands of people getting the newsletters.

Steve - per your second option she has checked the quilting websites and they all say she is currently signed up. She has re-signed up on a couple of them already to no avail.
I need to go look at the Verizon site and see what is in their server.

Here I thought Win 7 was supposed to make all this easier....sheesh.

bingo!
Verizon is 'filtering' out all the newsletters as spam.
Now to figure out how to stop that from happening.
Thanks guys.

Use gmail or yahoo mail service.

Take verizon out of the loop entirely.

FWIW gmail has the best spam filter I've ever seen.

I don't use verizon, but have similar service, normally, if you see the emails in a SPAM filter, there is a way to select the emails and then mark them as not spam or move them from the SPAM folder to the inbox, or mark the senders as not SPAM/Junk. Verizon should allow you to do that which should keep those from going to the SPAM folder in the future. You'll probably need to do it from the same website where you discovered that they were in the SPAM folder.

I have 2 email accounts that go to verizon. To stay logged in, I use Live (old was outlook exp) for one. The other I go to the verizon email page. For resetting your filters, do this:

"Adding and Deleting Email Filters (Message Center)
Before you begin, login to Verizon Online Email via Message Center with your user name and password. Forgot your username and password?

To add a new Email filter:
From the top navigation, click Settings.

From the left navigation, click Email Settings and then Filters.

Select Add New Filter. Set the filter parameters by using the drop-down menu and enter the keywords you would like to associate with the filter in the field provided. For example, to automatically delete emails from "jane doe,"select From, Contains, enter "jane doe" and select the Delete email message radio button.

Click Save to apply changes.

To delete an Email Filter:
From the top navigation, click Settings.

From the left navigation, click Email Settings and then Filters. Any existing filters will appear under Active Filters.

Click the trashcan icon next to the filter. A confirmation message will be displayed.

Click OK."

Now if there are filters upstream from that, you will probably have to contact Verizon CS. I use live chat quite a bit if I'm sitting at the keyboard.
