Tommy Morrison RIP

Just read he passed away today - age 44.
Sad news indeed.

It's crazy if he actually got it from sex with women. I've never heard of a documented case of this happening.

Serious left hook and overhand right. Seemed like a fun loving guy.

His career's timing (Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis) was unfortunate for him. 10 years earlier or later and he could have been a huge name. Man is boxing in the dumps. My kids have never seen a match; the sport is losing the generational battle.
Heavyweight division was always exciting because often one surprise haymaker could change the outcome of a fight... And a career.

I don't know...the Duke never impressed me much as a boxer...I always wanted him to do good but he always seemed stodgy in the ring.

I had just read an ESPN article about where he was, was he sick, whats going on and it was a pretty interesting read. Both he and his wife denied he had AIDS and even that there is no AIDS, it's all a conspiracy brought on by the government.

His wife constantly denied he was sick and claimed he was about to make another comeback(!). His mother could only talk to him on the phone briefly and the wife wouldn't say where he was.

He died broke after making $100 million over his career (estimated). Sad life indeed.

This is as close to "documented" as I know. There is no way to ever know for sure.

For those catching a left from Tommy, " he went down like a windmill in a hurricane"
He seemed like a pretty decent guy from what I could tell from ESPN (back when I was receiving it)
