Anyone got a Free Internet Bandwidth Monitor app?
 

I've got screaming fast down load speeds, but damnnn Even when Pelican is slow to load something is amiss.


I want to montitor bandwidth, I'm on Comcast cable, unlimited data.


anywhere from 7-10 msec ping, 20-30 meg sec down, 10-12 up.


is there a freeware program you can download to monitor and track bandwidth data used?, not just speed?

Lots of things can be causing slowness.

First, the numbers your ISP brags about is your connection back to them. Anything beyond that you are sharing the available bandwidth with all the other users on their service.

Also, their DNS servers may be slow - so when you ask for a name to address conversion, it takes 3 or 4 seconds before even trying to fetch the page you want.

Finally, Pelican may be slow, especially in the early evening.
