Whale watching

We went out on Monterey bay yesterday for a 4 hour trip.
Nice way to spend our 17th year wedding anniversary together.

Saw all kinds of birds, seals, sea lions, dolphins and whales.

Really exciting and interesting.
We were about 2-4 miles offshore and began seeing the whales within about 20 minutes.

We went out with 'Blue Ocean Whale Watch' out of Moss Landing.

I thought this was going to be a post about your trip to Wisconsin.

They can weigh almost 40 tons!

Amazing photos, KT....thanks for sharing! I'll put this on my bucket list for sure.

California Gray Whales, right?

That last 'breach' pic is unreal!

Humpbacks!

They are estimating over 100 in the bay right now.

I look forward to going again.

Now, I'm no expert...

But I'm pretty sure these are seals, not whales.

Just wanted to make sure you knew.

;)

Fantastic pics, by the way.

Wow, very cool trip. I'll have to do that some day.

But I don't want to try this.

I suspect it makes for a very unpleasant stay inside the wetsuit for the rest of the trip.
