Iowa grants gun permits to the blind

After reading the now closed thread

Shaking my head in disbelief or What's the difference between Porsches and porcupines it made my head more than shake with this:

Iowa grants gun permits to the blind

From the linked article,
" And Jane Hudson, executive director of Disability Rights Iowa, who says blocking visually impaired people from the right to obtain weapon permits would violate the Americans with Disabilities Act. That federal law generally prohibits different treatment based on disabilities"

Using that logic the blind should be given driver's licences.

Someone should tip that cow.

Blind people can apply - they just need to pass the tests to get their liscence, which includes a vision test.

Correct.

I have a friend who can not see well enough to drive but he can see a shape well enough to take a shot at it.

Maybe, maybe not, depends on conditions.

But just because he's vision impaired don't automatically assume he has impaired decision making abilities.

Is there a Constitutional right to bear a driving licence?
