Wonder what role Ronnie gave his brother Clint?

Motorsport magazine has a fantastic write up on it this month. Not only the movie itself but the real thing. My brother got severely burned that year and I remember thinking (and telling him) he could be back on track as quick as Lauda. No way- he took years. And people called Lauda a coward when he parked the car in Japan.....they had no idea.
This is one I will see at the theater. BTW James Hunt's son looks exactly like his father. Last edited by cairns; 09-10-2013 at 11:07 AM.. |

This month's Racer magazine has a great article comparing the events of '76 and the movie, along with a ton of photos, storyboards, etc - an excellent article - I highly recommend it -
The magazine has articles about other famous racing movies as well - so who do you think made the cover - not Hunt or Lauda or Hemsworth or Bruhl.. but... I guess he still sells ![]()

Rush is the best movie I've seen this year, although that's not saying much. Often there are technical inaccuracies or anachronisms that take you right out of a period film. Not this time. The leads are just about perfect. Go see it.

Watched the trailer for Rush a while back, and in the "Related" Youtube links, I found an excellent BBC documentary on the Hunt-Lauda competition for the 1976 Formula 1 World Championship:
Clash Of The Titans - Lauda Vs Hunt James Hunt: Clash Of The Titans - Lauda Vs Hunt - YouTube And "related" to that Barry Sheene & James Hunt - When playboys ruled the world Barry Sheene & James Hunt - When playboys ruled the world - YouTube Interesting look at celebrity of sports stars then and now, focusing on James Hunt, and motorcycle racing champ Barry Sheene. I am glad I don't know how many hours I have spent thanks to YouTube "Related" videos. |

It is funny how he always gets a part but I will say, you could not have cast a more perfect NASA engineer than Clint in Apollo 13. With those think rimmed glasses, he is EXACTLY what I think of when picturing an Apollo era engineer.

I seldom watch movies (none on Sammy's list), tho those of Howard's I have watched, have been informally good. Most auto racing movies suck....other than the actual racing sections.

So haven't seen it....was gonna with this gal today but we/she decided to camp out and boink.....but I haven't EVER seen a more concentrated ad campaign.
My guess is that they will spend close to production costs to promote and buy an Oscar...... I have a chafe.....
