Pseudo audio geek iTunes PC question because I'm too lazy to search for the answer

Scenario:

I haul my laptop into the shop each night so I can program and run my CNC, naturally I fire up iTunes and get the music on.

What I want are some decent quality bookshelf sized speakers in the shop with a device that I can wirelessly beam the iTunes to so it plays over the speakers. The laptop speakers are not loud enough and don't sound good enough.

The less settings and plugs and crap the better. Flip open the laptop, turn the speakers on, hit go. I don't want do much more than that.

Ideas? I have not kept up on the all the latest communication goodies, so need some pointers.

Thanks!

I have the answer but too lazy to give it to someone too lay to take the 1 second it takes to plug a jack into their laptop and would rather pay a stupid premium for wireless speakers which will more than likely fail to connect on occasion requiring more effort to trouble shoot than a years worth of plugging in the jack.

Great answer!

I guess to clarify I don't always end up in the same place in the shop, and would rather keep it as "bluetoohish" as possible. But I catch your drift.

LOL.

THe Jawbone is a nice device.

The one thing I find lacking in the wireless setups is real depth to the sound, they are always too thin which annoys me.

Even a cheap pair of wired bookshelfs with a small sub sound way better for 1/3rd the money.

You might do better price and sound wise picking up an older iPod and an iHome dock and leaving that in the garage.

+1

Klipsch computer speakers wit subwoofer (I got 'em in the bedroom setup), and AirPort- has connection for speakers built in and you can stream iTunes thru it.

But, that solution is $$$$
