Bump-fire devices and techniques have been around a long time.
Also, cranks that fit against the trigger were popular for a while.

This is just another one of those type devices - but it looks like a better made product. This just means that the ATF will change the definition of "machine gun" like they did in 1983.

Periodically there will be one at our range and they sure do rip though a magazine of ammo! All the people I have see with them can not hit the target backer at 50 yards once it starts off but they are faster than a full auto M4.

I've seen the AR-15 version on a range. It worked okay at times and not so good at other times. I enjoy a well placed shot involving sight alignment and trigger control. The slide system doesn't interest me. However I was issued a full auto for over 20 years so I've had plenty of time to experience rapid fire weapons. People who have never fired full auto would probably get a kick out of this system until they find out a mag of 30 rounds last only a few seconds.

But, a little JB Weld on your SKS firing pin, and we get the same effect and it only costs 10 cents.

When I first saw one of these I asked out gun club president who has been a FFL for many, many years about them and he said they are in fact legal in CA. Of course they may have been added to one of the many gun bills running around in Sacrdemento now?

I have the crank fire one, works great on the 10/22, haven't tried with an AR yet. The Accelerator is now illegal. BATF changed their minds on it and owners were not grandfathered. I would like to get one of the slide fire stocks, but they are $300ish and they will not be grandfathered when BATF decides to make them illegal. Anyway, it's cheaper to learn how to bump fire your AR with a rubber band and you can get rid of that evidence pretty easily.

The key word there is trigger as the ones I looked at had no interaction mechanically with the trigger? He notes that it is sold as an adjustable stock and the user makes the change so the stock can slide. The first design had an assist spring and the feds did not like that so the design was modified to be "just a stock".

pretty sure a rubber band on my AK is cheaper than 10 cents
