Anybody Driven This Road?

I am flying into Vegas on Sunday. I have meetings in China Lake, Ca on Monday and Tuesday.

I haven't driven through Death Valley in a few years and want to take Rte 160 to Pahrump and then Bell Vista Road out of Pahrump over to Hwy 190 at Death Valley Junction.

Bell Vista looks fine on Google, and I'll only be on it for 15 miles or so, but do I need an SUV?

My sense is no, but I thought I'd ask.

TIA.

I've driven quite a bit in that area, tho I forget about that particular road.

call the NW Refuge and ask - then ask locally right before you leave

you are smart enuff to carry lots of water, etc.

you might also call China Lk and tell your contact there your planned route as they can get a bit skittish about boundaries sometimes

Oh, yeah. I've done the drive many times, just not this route. I was concerned that with the recent rains there may be washes. The Nevada DOT and Cal DOT had no warnings.

The Panamint Valley Road off 190 is really beautiful. I have also driven or flown just about every mile of the Lake. It is a spectacular place.

I have also "bounced" a few cars on that highway

I'm sure you know this but just a reminder that it is flash flood season, we were in LV last month and got a few alerts.
