Now ready for the next new owner!!

Is that a lease or a purchase?
Wasn't aware those were still in current production.

kach22i 09-24-2013 08:35 AM

Not my style, but beautiful.

Bravo.

Seriously?

Asphaltgambler - GORGEOUS big block a/c Chevelle! Beautiful job on the car, hope all your hard work and $$ pay off when the car sells to a new owner.

Thanks All!! This is a rare car (I can actually say that) 1-of-2097 built, 1-of-9 fully verified in the National LS5 Registry - original all numbers matching with build sheet. It has an unsual combination of column-shift / bench seat and A/C!

onewhippedpuppy 09-24-2013 08:57 AM

Nice! I remember you posting it a while back, what all did you have to do?

scottmandue 09-24-2013 09:07 AM

Wow, super nice... I grew up driving (I should say abusing) my parents late 60's GM cars.

Wanna trade for a Miata? ;)

I think John was referring to it being so nice that it looks brand new.

Well the 'bones' of the car was all there but lot's of things worn out or needed replacing because former incorrect or missing parts. One example I put the car on a buddy's lift, wrapped the entire body with automotive grade plastic saran wrap. Rented an industrial steam cleaner and spent the next two weeks cleaning, replacing parts with NOS or similar stuff and detail painting.

My Eastwood's bill; the detail paint for the underside was $375. alone

asphaltgambler 09-24-2013 09:22 AM

Replaced the entire dash, restored the gauges, radio - had the speakers re-coned, paint fixed in a few places and then buffed out (laquer), etc, etc, etc. Pretty much everything needed attention in one way or another.

pavulon 09-24-2013 09:48 AM

looks really nice! where are you advertising it?

Rot 911 09-24-2013 09:55 AM

That car is both beautiful and bad ass!

asphaltgambler 09-24-2013 10:14 AM

Advertising localy C/L first to confirm price point and interest. So far so good. If I do not have cash in hand by the weekend I will move on and list on HotRodHotLine

the car looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor and into your garage well done sir,
I hope it brings top dollar you earned it!

asphaltgambler 09-24-2013 10:53 AM

Thanks all! - not a show car but I tried to preserve the way it would look when nearly new then and umolested.

That's probably what I like best about it. I'm not a "show car" restoration fan. Those are usually over-restored and not driven. This is a restored, but on nice days - meant to be driven by some very lucky person.

edit - lucky person with deep pockets!

How did I miss this thread? That is jet-focking beautiful!

onewhippedpuppy 09-24-2013 06:48 PM

Well done with the Craigslist ad as well. I hate seeing nice cars advertised with crappy ads.
