Sure is cheaper than a $10K 911 rebuild
|
I'd be stoked for a rebuild for 10k on the fcar. Ha!!
|
Parts for domestics, especially older ones, are silly cheap.
|
funny you mention a chevy 350 motor.
This wkend my 96 chevy c1500 with a 350 thru a rod, toast with 119k on the clock. 4k later, its as good as new. |
Well.......half price anyhow.
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/fms-m-6007-x302/overview/ There are cheaper ones out there from other rebuilders.....if ya got the guts for it. Do ya feel lucky? |
The shipping is a few bucks.
I had a brand new, not remanafactured or rebuilt 350 delivered to my office for right at $1,700 total. 20,000 miles later it still runs great. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1380575964.jpg That is a crate engine! |
I installed a customers brand new in the crate direct from Porsche 3.6 x51 engine last year........
That was not 1700.......hell it was 25 k + lol |
I got my L05 (P/U 350) for $1700 delivered to the front door. With the "hecho en Mexico" stamp on the crate just like the one above

The one thing that has always puzzled me is why all the fitting on the body are metric, and only the engine parts are SAE. I guess it is GM logic. |
No my Dodge is the same way
|
I like the Aluminum LS3 personally
free shipping too! |
Very cool engine but for the price on the 350 is just insane! I wish!
In Canada that engine is probably around $3500 (hmmm, business opportunity??). |

I recently bought a 1968 Chevy pick-up that will get an engine/tranny swap sometime soon.
After being used to Porsche parts prices, I'm shocked at how inexpensively I'm acquiring parts for this project. |
