Don't expect NPRC to be easy. They'll want his SO to request....then parents......then with a ton of paperwork, they might finally give it up to you.

Even though I have ask about this stuff years ago I still learn new things. This is very interesting and confusing with so many ranks an divisions. Now I found a patch in his belongings that has a cannon with a rocket going through it and is red and yellow and his name tags. LOL

NPRC ?What ever i need to get info i am sure i can supply them with it. I just hope when it comes to parents they don't want them alive because ones missing. LOL

And here is a stupid question The acronym NPRC is? You might have mentioned in a previous post.;)

National Personnel Records Center(NPRC) is the National Archives.
There are limitless variations on those plaques. It could have almost anything in those spots...It was likely not a medal.

If I had to guess...I would say that it was probably some version of the South Vietnam flag in the upper right corner.

Yes that's what i believe it is. Their's another mark between the country and flags. Most likely some sort of service ribbon belongs in that spot.
