Go to Emeril's place. Fantastic service and the food ain't half bad.
Find a seat at Acme oyster bar downtown and blow an afternoon on oysters, shrimp and beer. JR Last edited by javadog; 10-04-2013 at 05:49 PM.. |

Great local joint. Awesome breakfast and great lunches. Not fancy only take cash but great atmosphere and better food. "Mothers"
Lots of other places, but honestly I haven't found a bad place to eat in Nawlins. |

You must go to port of call. The food really isn't all that special but the drinks will knock you on your butt. After one monsoon I am buzzzzzzzing.

August. The Grill Room at the Windsor Court. Antoine's. Galatoire's. That's a good start.

Take a cab to Constance & 3rd and get a roast beef poboy w/gravy from Parasols. Best sandwich on the planet, IMHO.
What kind of food stuff are you looking for? |

Skip the lines of tourists at the Acme and step across the street to Felix's. Best chargrilled oysters in New Orleans. Their catfish is among the best as well. There is a reason they've been there since before you were born.
We also usually end up at Pierre Maspero's for at least one meal. Food is good, but not the best. Something about having a meal in the same room where the Lafitte pirates planned raids. -J

Acme Oyster House for chargrilled oysters. The locals I know say they are better than Felix's. Gallatoires is good too, expensive tho. I like Cafe du Mond for beignets and coffee in the morning but some people don't like beignets. Go to Jackson Square, get some pralines and walk around.

Deanies in the Quarter, or even better in BuckTown. Louisiana Pizza Kitchen for a thin crust roasted garlic, feta and olive oil pizza - essential after a night of heavy drinking. Camilia Grill for Breakfast. Burger at Port-O-Call. Muffuletta from Central Grocery. Fried Oyster Po-Boy from Acme.
Edit: Actually Quartermaster grocery makes a better Muffuletta than the popular Central Grocery. I'd try Quartermaster first!!

Palace Café - the most memorable meal we had last time there. Their garlic and duck gumbo is incredible.
