Son scored his first touchdown today!
He's been playing youth football for 5 years, and is playing his last year before high school. He's always played offensive line (LT) or something on defense. This year he's been carrying the ball and today he broke one around the left end on a little pitch play. Ran outside, stepped inside the linebacker and turned on the speed, 23 yards to the endzone. I was on the chain gang and got a front row seat. I will never forget the proud look on his face, or the ensuing hug on the sideline :--) Proud papa for sure!

Thats great for him, and you, that you were able to be right there to share his moment!
Cheers Richard |
Very cool. My oldest is 9 and in the midst of football now, so I totally understand.

Awesome memories with both of my boys. Never let the morons tell you that football injuries outnumber soccer injuries. I spent two decades coaching youth football, and saw maybe two serious injuries, and they were freak circumstances. Football is by FAR the best sport for a developing young man. The change that takes place in them is amazing, and unique to football.

Our children said that they could always hear Steve and I when we cheered for them.
Good times, good times! Miss the sports with the kids... Congrats to you and your son, what a great moment! angela |
