Denver Pelicans - Places to live near Denver/Lafayette/Broomfield

Afternoon all - I am considering moving to Colorado in the next few months/1 year and I was hoping for some recommendations of decent & affordable areas near Broomfield or Lafayette. My company's HQ is in Lafayette and I'm trying to avoid any overpriced housing or extremely long commutes. I have a car + motorcycle but I hear that splitting lanes in CO is frowned upon/not legal.

Trying to keep housing under $1500-$1600/mo. So far I have seen the COL is about 40% less than where I live in Orange County, CA. Plus this part of Colorado is very friendly to many of our (wife & I) social needs.

Look at downtown Louisville, too. It's pretty cool.

Depends what kind of house you prefer. There are a ton of developments in Louisville/ Superior, Lafayette and even Erie. Fairly new construction so probably easy living....but close neighbors!

Around Longmont you will find older houses that may be a bit more unique and spread out.

Best part of CO housing....the taxes are dirt cheap!!!

Thanks for the info everyone. I am now waiting on an agreeable decision from the wife. If she's good with the move, I may be a Colorado Pelican by early next year - we shall see.

Oh really? Chelley and I checked out some housing prices - for what we're paying in Orange County we can get a 3-4 bedroom house with some good acreage. I really hope we can move.

I have friends that recently bought a home in Arvada. He works in Broomfield and they both love the area and all the activities available to them. They are about an hour away from the mountains. They have been there a little over a year and love Colorado... they are trying to get me to move there...
