That's Mark Donohue's AMC Javelin.

I love the look of the early Trans Am's! And yours is definitely a winner!

Good call, I love Minilites.

Yeah, Minilites rock. If they would clear the brakes on my Miata, I would have a 15x8 set on it now.

I bet that car makes a great noise.

chevy powered tho?

nice car, but why not indian power?

Tobra 07-22-2014 12:40 PM

That car deserves a 455 Poncho onder the hood

It's a 468 ci (454) big block. Will have to do for now. How many points do we lose for that?

I like the Goodyears. I went to them after this happened.

Well I guess in reality it should have a short stroke 400 ci (303c.i.) because of course it was a 5 liter series. This spawned the 302 Z28 and 302 Mustang. But we haven't got a 303 for this car YET. We'll see.

Are those Halibrands?? Nice!

onewhippedpuppy 07-23-2014 03:56 AM

Great looking T/A! I wasn't aware that Konig made a Minilite style wheel, I'll have to look into those for my Mustang. Vintage Wheel works has a 16x8 in a similar style that I have been considering, except mine will be shod in modern rubber.

Edit - Konig Rewind is 4 lug only. Damn.

Mrmerlin 07-23-2014 04:13 AM

Great looking TA I would be happy to drive it for you.
When you make a Mark D Camaro will it also be dipped in acid to make the light weight panels?

71scgc 07-23-2014 05:14 AM

Pontiac engine very expensive to build, like double a BBC.

Doubt it! But that's a great story, Penske had it so light the roof flexed so they had to hide it with a vinyl roof. "We just like the look of vinyl" he is said to have said when asked why the vinyl.

Tobra 07-23-2014 09:50 AM

So the BFG is a good tire, but not a great tire.

None if you put those groovy Super Duty heads on it.

Just in the pic. I kept the Minis.

Awesome wheel and tire combo. I love these cars, especially on the track.

I sold my 911 to build a Trans Am style 66 Barracuda, my new wheels arrived too..

Great looking Barracuda, and nice wheels too, and the right color. Tell us more about this car, more pics if you got 'em.
