Thanks for the post.

I served on an Army Honor Guard for a while back in the late '90's (before the wars), so the only funerals we did were for veterans--no active duty soldiers--but it was still a very humbling experience.

Thanks for your service, soldier.

Salute!

Thank you for posting that.

There is a very sad but still very inspiring book, "Bringing Shane Home", by Rinker Buck that chronicles the loyalty and persistence required of the CACO,(Casualty Assistance Officer), as he accompanies and arranges the funeral for Shane Childers of Powell Wyoming who was the first killed in action during the start of the Iraqi war.

The camaraderie between soldiers, fallen or not is amazing to me.

Riding with the Patriot Guard remains the most emotionally wrenching experience of my life.

Thanks for the post. Taking Chance is a good movie and well worth the time to watch. Very emotional.

I've spent quite a bit of time with wounded warriors on my race team over the past year, and these guys have my complete respect. I cannot even begin to imagine the sacrifice they make for our country. Very humbling.
