The Affordable 996 Thread
I hear everyone saying they want one.
I will start: Appears to need nothing.... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-cars-sale/779464-1999-porsche-911-carrera-coupe-guards-red-oem-upgrades-ims-retrofit-ct.html Appears to need a few things....(no mention of IMS upgrade) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-cars-sale/780172-1999-porsche-c2-120-000-miles-14-500-obo-sale.html |
This thread will be very bad for my wallet I fear.... Can we add the 986 to mix as well?

The 996 is a fanatasic car at a very affordable price. That red one sounds like a deal.
Bought my 50K mile 99 earlier this year, did he IMS and clutch and it's a great daily. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1374365417.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1374365433.jpg |

Hmmm... |
I propose that a 2003 986 S 3.2L for ~$15K is a better car than an older 1999-2000 996 3.4L for $18-20K.
|
As example, I just pulled this as the first one I saw off my local craigslist. No affiliation of course.
2002 Porsche Boxster S That is SO MUCH GODDAMN CAR for the money. Think Mazda 3's go for that damn price. |

This should be named "The Affordable M96 Thread".
They are typically low entry cost with the potential maintenance costs of $1,000 - $30,000  |
