Off-Topic Area - do we still need it?

I was just thinking how sad it is we cannot have legitimate discussions about cars, soft porn, recipes, or butt crackups by cops in PARF, where there is more fun traffic and thus more opportunity for denigration.

Correct me if I'm wrong - but it's my understanding we cannot do this because basically any tangible discussion of cars, etc. turns quickly into exchange of opinion and genuine debate rather than a healthy spew of denigrating and name calling.

I know our moderators have strengthened enforcement of forum guidelines to include temporary "vacations" and in some extreme cases permanent banning but the fact remains we still have a divided forum for Off these Topics.

It's not really a big deal for me but I just thought I'd post my thoughts on the matter in case others feel the same (or different) way and wanted to chime in.

We have an Off-Topic Area?

GH85Carrera 11-07-2013 01:03 PM

Where else would you put the Stijn thread?

porsche4life 11-07-2013 01:05 PM

I'm wondering who got banned in September and is reincarnated... Seems like a bold statement for a newcomer....

Gogar 11-07-2013 01:05 PM

I for one feel that we should seperate all the Porsche talk into its own dedicated forum.

Jim Richards 11-07-2013 01:06 PM

I thought you were off setting up your hammock, Sid.

porsche4life 11-07-2013 01:07 PM

Soon jim... Very soon

Temps have been slowly dropping here all day. No lounging in the sun for me.

Seems funny coming from someone who just joined in September and 85% of their posts are in OT or PARF.

Thanks finstone! You inspired me with your two posts on the get rid of PARF thread.

I was not banned in September, nor did I see any rules about the post count required to start a post.

I'm me. Get over it.

Question is, should we put up with people getting banned from PARF and then coming back pretending to be a NOOB asking if we really need PARF?
I say no.
