Kovalainen confirmed as fill-in for Kimi. Hope he does well. Many were asked (even Schumacher) but settled on Heikki.

Yes, Kovalainen going good! Hope he can do something about what looks to be a run-away at the front. They may have already sent the trophy to the engravers.

I had forgotten that Heikki raced here last year. He must be impressed by the new car.

Last year was a very good race so there may be some surprises yet. Let's hope.

It's a beautiful day here at COTA. breezy but warm. Quality just about to start in few minutes. Will try to post a few pics.

We had the worst coverage of F1 qualifying ever.
First they delayed the coverage from 11:00 to3:30
Then delayed it again to cover the Olympic trial Curling end 11 another 30 min.(incredibly exciting)
Then with 10 min left in Q2 they cut to commercial. When they returned from the commercial, they were showing the Q3 pole victor pulling into Park Ferme.
With 16 min left in the broadcast they decided to show highlights and interviews instead of qualifying.
A total COCK-UP.

I was blown away by how bad they messed up that broadcast. That was amazingly awful.
