.410 Pistol?

Anyone ever heard of a .410 pistol? Tauras brand in the the following article:

Technically it isn't a 410 pistol - it is a 45 LC with *really* long chambers. And the barrel is rifled.

If the barrel were smooth like a real shotgun it would be either an AOW (any other weapon) or SBS (short barrel shotgun) and require a tax stamp.

This spoon has been discussed here before.

Pretty much the consensus is not a fun gun to play with and questionable for use as home defense.

Bottom line it is your money if you like it buy it... but depending on what you are planing on using it for there are probably better choices.

YMMV

Garage
It was sort of like the Gun of the Month last year.
I don't recommend them to anyone but I've transferred a few from Gunbroker.

At close in personal defense range the buckshot will still be tightly grouped..... might as well be using a standard pistol round. Many folks who buy them are under the impression that they cannot miss due to using "shotgun shells".... This is not the case at close range. I see no good reason/purpose to own one.

That said, I re-blued one for an old family friend who lost his home in a fire. The smoke did a number on it, so I cleaned/reblued it for him. I shot a few rounds through it afterwards and the .410 rounds really kick..... not fun to shoot.
