pcarspecialist.ca merged with Pelican

I've used pcarspecialist a few times for small parts where the shipping is significantly cheaper than getting them across the border (larger orders tend to be cheaper from Pelican). Now I see Pelican has taken them over.

So my question to the Pelican folks is, can we get parts shipped directly from Canada now, and skip all the international shipping nonsense? If so, that would be so unbelievably awesome!

I just ordered some exhaust gaskets from Pelican, if logging in through pcarspecialist.ca would've saved me the shipping costs, it would add up to a substantial portion of the overall cost. Still, track day coming and need to get those thermal reactors off.

Wow, Pelican please let us know if that's true as this would actually make some parts cheaper to buy than ship

Thanks for explaining, Wayne - I was hoping we'd hear from you!

I did always notice that the prices were higher, but that's typical of pretty much any item, not just car parts. Stuff is just more expensive here.

I'm very interested to see what a flat-rate landed price from fedex will be, and I'm especially interested to see if it's cost-effective for small stuff. Maybe twice a year or so I get a bunch of little stuff, mostly tune-up type things like oil and fuel filters. I'd love to see the final landed price of that come down a bit!

I will be interested to see the freight rates as well. The problem with this landed shipping cost business vs. USPS is that by receiving stuff through the post office, you got to spin the roulette wheel and sometimes customs doesn't bother looking at your package and you don't pay anything. With the bonded couriers, you will always pay.

Quibbles aside, here's hoping that ordering from Pelican becomes even easier and more transparent. Now that I bought my wife a used Volvo XC70, I'm going to be in to Wayne for a lot of $$$!

Cheers,
Keith
