Lost my voice...any help?
First day of my new job and I was mute. I can crack an ugly and broken word or two but it's bad. It's not that talking hurts, I literally can't make the noises. I am otherwise fine, very mild cold symptoms(mostly mild ear pain). Luckily these first few days are just HR stuff.
I already know the basics; Don't talk No alcohol or acidic stuff Drink water gargle with saltwater don't whisper The tea stuff is BS Anyone have any other advice? I've never had this before and am wondering how long this usually lasts. I need to contribute on the job by Friday at the latest. Thanks guys.

Sorry, no really good treatment. Its a viral attack on the vocal cords. Possibly much better by Friday. Only remedy that sometimes decrease the inflammation reasonably is cortisone.

Thanks Livi, if it's inflammation can I sacrifice my liver and hit it hard with Ibuprofen?
