Try it, should work. I don't agree with drilling through the tire... I'd try shooting it through the valve stem and spinning the wheel while its still wet to get it evenly distributed.

Yeah, I did it to mine and it works. I only put one hole in the top and one in the bottom of the tire though. also, once it start to expand. I put a screw into each of the holes... has worked pretty good so far...

Sounds like the perfect fix for the wheelbarrow tire that keeps going flat.

I would not use that for anything that will get a heavy load which would deform the tire. A rigid foam will take a set and, well you know what it's like driving with flat-spotted tires.

Any tires I have on lawn equipment which develop problems get the 'green snot', which works quite well.

For persistent leaks I remove the tire, sand the rusty rim (usually the cause), spray with whatever leftover spray bomb I have - no waterbased, then put back together with an inner tube with the pre-installed anti flat goop. Works great but sets you back about $ 15 per wheel.

Insulation foam is stiff and will not flex. It will permanently deform as oldE already pointed out.

Watching that video, I was wondering if that guy was serious? Especially when he showed the tire he "overfilled".

There is a reason people have come up with this air cushion (and it remains until today). Maybe yard equipment doesn't need that much cushioning, but I'd at least try to use a flexible foam. They may be available, albeit not as readily as insulation foam.

I would consider switching to full rubber wheels on something that got on my nerves in the yard instead.

You can buy a foam filled wheelbarrow tire for about 25 bucks at your local True Value. The one on mine has held up fine for 3-4 years now. Never leave a WB with a load in it......it fills with rain water & the rot sets in.
My WB is about 25 years old......ah, maybe 30.
