Hunting in general isn't something that appeals to me, so maybe that somehow devalues my opinion on this matter. But most hunters I know eat what they kill...

I find "trophy hunting" to be morally reprehensible.

I have absolutely no problem with legitimate hunting when the hunter or other people are going to use the kill for food, but lions?? Zebras??

Furthermore how can one think that you can use a sophisticated tripod and scoped rifle to kill a zebra and call it hunting? ridiculous....

As much as I loathe trophy hunting (ie not for meat harvesting), I don't see the issue if it was taken legally. The animal conservatory determines at the outset of the year how many animals the area can sustain for that year. License fees are then sold. People forget that the HUGE license fees for taking these animals ($15,000-$40,000) goes back to keeping conservation areas properly funded. It also employs many locals who otherwise have ZERO prospect of finding work.

Yes, Im aware of the hunting/conservation argument. I think this type of trophy hunting is repugnant. Popping these animals with high powered weapons is utterly without merit. Kill that animal? Go ahead, use your hands.

I find her manufactured warrior woman/FOX pin up sexuality to be particularly distasteful and contrived. IMO, that she takes pleasure from killing for trophy makes her a pretty worthless human being.

I just read a story that said the animal in question was bred and raised specifically to be hunted. So this was perhaps a canned hunt?

If that's the case, this really isn't much different than the 25 BILLION animals that are bred and killed in the USA each year...though as I pointed out, I find it distasteful to shoot for trophies only.

What I found to be hypocritical were the people who signed the petition. I have no doubt that Ms. Bachman and her production team poured much more money into the local economy and conservation for that hunt than most people do in a lifetime.

Im sure the animal was killed legally on one of the hunting estates catering to rich ****s who get their jollys killing animal like these with their big guns.
