You can get it through their website --- but only after jumping through a few hoops. You get a special access code only good for that day.

It may be faster and easier to get in touch with your old employer and ask IT to do you a favor and set up an email alias that forwards your old work email to your private email so you can log in and do the password change then they can turn the forwarder back off.

Trying to get a hold of a human at PayPal?

May Dog have mercy on your tortured soul.

I have spent upwards of 2 hours on hold trying to get through on the phone. I gave up and let my account go dormant for 3 months till I recently tried again.
My account was hacked into and a bogus payment was being sent to a hotmail account, but Paypal can be a nightmare to get in touch with.

This. I sold and delivered a set of Porsche wheels, payment was via Paypal. The buyer's account was compromised and one fraudulent purchase was made before it was caught, Paypal reversed his last 30 days worth of purchases including mine. Despite both myself and the buyer trying to contact Paypal to have them fix our legitimate transaction, their "dispute resolution" process found that I should not be paid. Eventually we both gave up and he sent me a check.

If there were a legitimate alternative to Paypal, I would be all over it.

I don't use PayPal. I got locked out of my account years ago, and when I called and tried to get them to reset the password, they were both worthless and rude. No thanks. If your 'Paypal only' you don't get my business.

I haven't had a problem. They recognize your registered phone number.

This!

I've had paypal over a decade and actually use their business debit mastercard for almost all over my business expenses.....somewhere around 150-200k per year.....I get great customer service from them....live person on the phone in just minutes, always pleasant and thank me for my loyalty......and I get 1.5% cash back on all card purchases and just have it set up to automatically draw the required funds from my primary business account.

I,ve used them for about 10 yrs no problem. .I think they are still owned by Ebay which also hides their contact info Probably to keep call center staff to a min.
Actually had to use Paypal Ebay buyer protection last year.
Bought an early z28 and sent a deposit by paypal. Seller couldn,t find all the original parts he said he had but refused to adjust price or refund deposit. Paypal refunded and Ebay stepped in and removed him from their site. several calls to me after initial complaint by email.
