Going to look at the 900SS on Saturday. :)

Oh man somebody should've punched it out to 944 when they did that!

Photos of your bike do not do it justice. I recall seeing it at Kie's shop. The paint is amazing. One of the nicest Supersports I've ever seen.

"All things being equal" is right where the buck stops on this one - they are most decidedly not equal. The 750 is a massively de-spec'd bike from the early 900 or the late 900 SP (all early, pre-SP/CR bikes were built to SP specs). Go with the 900, for sure.

So, while we are at it, here's my '93. It has full (aftermarket) carbon fiber bodywork, revalved forks, Fox rear shock, Termi "Spaghetti" exhaust, Keihin 41mm FCR's, and a freshly rebuilt motor featuring JE pistons, ST2 cams, ported heads, and Kibblewhite stainless valves.

I thought of that. I thought long and hard on that, as a matter of fact. It would have probably been the difference in reaching that magic 100 hp mark (it currently has mid 90-ish hp). I worried about cylinder stability and long-term reliability, though. In the six years I've owned this thing, I've put just over 40,000 miles on it (hence the rebuild), so I ride it a lot.

And, in the end, I'm just not sure I'm good enough to really "need" or justify any more power than it already has. If I'm not careful, that front wheel comes up all too easily as it is.

Why thank you. I was quite smitten with it as well, when we first "met" over at Kie's. It looks even better from behind the handlebars. :D

Rot 911, you will find my level of "addiction" quite common among 900 SS owners. They are the classic "the whole is greater than the sum of the parts" kind of bike. No one thing stands out (at least on paper), but it all comes together out on the road. These things are just a hoot to ride. A large part of that is the easy torque available at the flick of a wrist - the 750's don't have that, or at least not as much. Grab that 900 and never look back...

Yes, the 750 is the ugliest bike ever made, almost, the 900 a total classic. However, and I'm repeating myself here, either get Helibars or wrist surgery, as the stock angle on the 900 is perfect when you're carving and absolute misery if you're not.

The ad for the 92 is a joke- "original" carbon fibre hugger and and front fender...not. "Countershaft" cover? Its a clutch cover. Dude knows nothing. Still, the price is right if the miles are, but somehow I think he hooked the odo up to a cordless and spun it.

Wow that's SEXY

The thing is: The tank has been painted (it's missing its decal), and IMO that sexy lady is covering up a boo-boo.

Which all adds up to . . . . Well it's not that big of a deal, but the allure of that charcoal bike is the unique factory paint job, which has been totally ruined by that lovely sexy lady there.

And, if it's been down while moving, it's definitely not worth that kind of money at all.
