1969 911S Engine moving forward
|
Can you tell us about the fan and housing? It looks new. Powder coat? Dupont 7?
Has the inner pulley been replated with zinc-chromate and re-riveted onto the fan? That engine is going to be a bit of jewelry! |
That's purty...the cad plated parts look just *right*, usually they are too yellow and all wrong when I see them re-done.

I'm sure no powder coating and it was disassembled plated ect.
I'll check but I think the guy charges $500.00. worth it. I'm going show quality start to finish. |
The guys name is Mark Motshagen, he uses a porcelain paint.
He gets out all the tiny corrosion pits too |
Really nice work. If you're inclined, fill us in on the various methods used to restore the finish on the mag case and alum parts. I'm seriously OCD when it comes to that stuff, here is my alum case from my last 911 engine rebuild:

The fan housing is outstanding!
And the plating looks spot on, Nice work! Looks like you are working with some top notch folks- I'll have to find out about some of your contacts when I tear into my 69S engine for a basket case. I'm planning on doing the build myself but need to get contacts in southern Cal for plating etc. |
Nicely done, please keep posting the updates.
