How do I attach a photo to a post?

I've been trying to attach a photo to a post and can't seem to figure out the process. I go through the upload process, and everything seems to work. But when I preview the post there is no photo visible. What am I doing wrong? I'm using Firefox by the way. Thanks.

Have you then actually submitted the post after the upload is complete? You won't actually see the picture in the preview (as I recall).

edited: Can't paste it, dang, can't even fake it out, but you will not see the pic....just the location of where it is with "jpg(/img" at the end.

I have had the same problem for years, I tried different configurations, WIN7, XP, IE, Firefox. No combination of the above worked.

The only config I got to work was Chrome..... I don't like Chrome, so I don't post images.

After a while I just didn't care anymore.

Wow, that did it. Chrome works fine, Firefox and IE do not. I wonder if that's the case for all users?

Thank you. I was starting to think there was something wrong with me.

I use FF and can post pics no issues. Your settings might be askew.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1386511861.jpg

That's just mean. I played around with the setting in FF and nothing worked. Any idea what would cause this? I'm no fan of Chrome.

The age comment wasn't a shot at you it was just something random that I find funny. :) As for the settings I have no idea what it might be. Patience will pay here there are a lot of bright people who can answer your question. I am just not one of them, I am the sarcastic one. :D

If you don't upload the image to PP, you can add the link where the image is. It's the sun over the mountains looking icon.

No offense taken. Very funny . . . and appropriate. I'll play around a little more to see if I can figure things out. Thanks for letting me know it's not FF itself.

Near the bottom of this page, do you see a "Go Advanced" button?

reed930 12-08-2013 12:35 PM

I sure do, and I see the option to "upload a photo." But when I go through the process, the pop-up window closes with no photo attachment. Very strange.

gwood 12-08-2013 04:56 PM

Could you walk us through the sequence?
"Go Advanced" button > "Click Here to Upload a Photo" link > "Browse" button > Select a File > "Open" button > "Upload Now" button
Do you get a timeout message?

reed930 12-08-2013 06:28 PM

Post Reply>Click Here to Upload a Photo(Pop-Up Appears)>Browse>Select File>Open>Upload Now!(Pop-Up Closes) . . .

Nothing. It's acting like the file doesn't attach to the message. I'm really surprised this has been going on for years for some people and the problem hasn't been resolved.

gwood 12-09-2013 06:31 AM

After the popup closes, did you hit the "Submit Reply" button at the bottom of the page? You might have to scroll down.

reed930 12-09-2013 08:29 AM

Yes, I did. The exact same process works on Chrome as Radioactive pointed out. On Chrome, after the pop-up closes, the image link appears in the body of the post. On FF and IE nothing.

I use FF and haven't had a problem.
Are you sure your file size isn't too big?
